Thanks for reply, I now have a loan canon 300mm L 2.8 with 1.4x TC Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 DGX on my 7D the problem I have is this :-

On my 7D will MF focus only, same with my friend 7D.
On my old canon 450D work OK with full AF.
What am I doing wrong, do I need to change setting in the menu. Help

If the telephoto end of your lens is f/5.6, AF isn’t gonna work very well.

I would like to buy a kenko pro 1.4/2.0. I have a Canon EOS450D + Canon 100-400 IS lens.

From reading various websites, I am led to believe the 1.4 teleconverter will work with the lens (minus autofocus), but the 2.0 will not be a good idea. Is my reading accurate?

Am I also to understand the EOS 450D camera body can’t cope with the teleconverter? If that’s the case, which camera body should I be looking at? (I would prefer one with video capabilities, and which shoots faster as I am interested in small birds).

I just tried it with a Kenko pro 300 1.4x & 2x, I can achieve autofocus with the 2x but not with the 1.4x. The dealer had no idea why either. Have you ever come across such a problem? He tried it with a couple of new 1.4x extenders. I am from Malaysia.
