Well after having my LG for quite a while now, I have to say I don't really like it. I resolved the problem of the screen going blank, it seemed that the very first models had problems with Proximity Calibration, anyway, changed the phone about 4 times as just kept playin up and now it seems ok :)

hi,
i too discovered the same problem and found it to be frustrating so i returned it to the store but i made sure to remove my screen protector and silicone casing, when the attendant phoned my number, right there in front of me the screen lit up, anyway to cut a long story short i discovered a little note in the box the phone came in that said the sensor must be clear at all times or the screen will go blank when making or receiving calls!!!the sensor is the little bit on the top right corner next to that little round camera bit..my blimmin silicone cover was a covering it a tad bit..lol..problem now solved...so just watch incase your finger's in the way of the sensor or something..good luck!

I love my LG and wanted a phone that had a decent camera, so when this came out I was over the moon, (although I have seen a 12 meg pixel phone).

I am no photographer, so the pictures for me are ok, although some of them when I'm taking a shot seem to be a bit blurry and lose resolution, my main problem is when trying to pick up my voicemails, the screen goes blank which I gather is so that you can't press anything whilst listening to calls, but.... the screen doesn't come back on, so half the time I spend ages trying to touch the screen to get it so that I can select dialpad and press 1 (surely a side button should have been designed to get the screen on again)!!! It's becoming a nightmare and has put me off the phone a little. I had an old LG Viewty before and this was brilliant (hence the reason I got this one) no problems at all, does anyone have any ideas if this is a general fault with the phone!? I have only had it about 4/5 months.
Any comments greatly appreciated

The idea behind the screen turning off before a call and on after a call is so that nothing gets accidentally pressed when you have the phone to your face. It's the same in the iPhone, except that LG's implementation is *really* laggy; I, too, find the screen extremely slow to turn back on.

As for the auto focus of the camera… it's another point of contention I have with the Viewty Smart.
