To my surprise, I discovered a Page One bookstore in the mall of Taipei 101 (currently the tallest skyscraper in the world). Just outside of the entrance, there were books on a clearance sale. And my day was made when I dug out a copy of Arthur Rimbaud's A Season In Hell; the best part was, the original text accompanied the translated text, along with photographs by Mapplethorpe at the start of each chapter.

Once, if I remember right, my life was a celebration where all hearts were open and all wines flowed.
One night I sat Beauty on my lap. And I found she was bitter, and I called her names.

And so it begins…

Finally, after having dredged bookstores around the city for the past week, I have found a book I actually wanted to read.
